Ferrexpo plc is a Swiss-headquartered iron ore company with mining and processing assets in Ukraine, recognized as a leading European producer and supplier of premium high-grade iron ore pellets. These pellets, featuring iron grades up to 67% Fe, serve the metallurgical industry by enhancing blast furnace productivity for premium steel mills while enabling the transition to green steel through reduced carbon emissions. The company operates vertically integrated facilities, including the Poltava open-pit mine with over 1 billion tonnes of JORC-compliant reserves—equivalent to more than 50 years of production—the nearby Yeristovo mine, and the upcoming Belanovo mine to boost output. Supporting logistics include rail, barge fleets on the Rhine and Danube, and ocean vessels. Ferrexpo exports to key markets in Europe, Turkey, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, contributing significantly to the Ukrainian economy. Incorporated in 2005, it has invested over US$3 billion since its 2007 IPO to pivot toward higher-grade products, fostering resilience and sustainability in the global steel supply chain.
